Fliff unpacks sports gaming into social, free-to-play games for all types of sports fans. We've built a social sports gaming experience that allows users to compete for leaderboard positioning, to achieve badges and build their status within the game.
We are pioneering play-for-fun sports gaming, with our flagship social sportsbook experience that includes sweepstakes promotions and loyalty rewards. We provide sports fans with fun, engaging, and free-to-play alternatives to real money gaming.
Who We Are Looking For
If you are passionate about technology and thrive in a dynamic environment, we want you on our team! Fliff seeks a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our growing team. As a key technical leader, you will drive innovation, set technical direction, and mentor our engineering team. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.
The Role
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex, high-performance distributed systems using Go
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical architecture, design scalable solutions, and deliver high-quality features
Architect and implement innovative solutions to handle large volumes of traffic and data, ensuring maximum performance, scalability, and reliability
Drive best practices for code quality, maintainability, and efficiency, setting standards for the engineering team
Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability at scale
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and promoting knowledge sharing across the team
Experience Required
10+ years of overall software development experience, with a proven track record of designing and delivering complex distributed systems and scalable solutions
Extensive experience with distributed systems architecture, microservices, and cloud-native technologies
Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles, with a focus on performance optimization and best practices
Expertise in Go or similar backend languages, with a strong foundation in software engineering principles and patterns
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in production environments, including design, implementation, and optimization for real-time data processing
Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS with experience deploying and managing production workloads at scale
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven leadership skills, with experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and driving technical excellence within engineering teams
Benefits
Competitive compensation package, which includes base salary, benefits, and equity. The annual salary for this role ranges from $200,000.00 to $270,000.00
